A Rondezvous With Destiny

Today, we live in an age of lying and deceit, an age of hypocrisy and ignorance in religion in education and politics.

This is also an age of rebellion, an age that is seemingly bent on destroying itself, but why?

We have lost our mooring (or stability and security). We no longer feel responsibility to the Creator God or even to our fellowman. Do your own thing is the keynote.

Our age has produced the nuclear bomb, germ warfare, and the ever- increasing threat of human annihilation. Ours is the age that murdered President John Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King.

We would even murder Jesus Christ if He were to appear in the flesh in this age and indict us for our sins, our hypocrisies and our selfishness and stupidity.

In one advice column, was the pleas from a broken-hearted mother whose daughter is a lesbian, and what she should do about it.

The answer: “You who profess to love her must accept her as she is, or not at all. She then quotes Sigmund Freud’s statement that homosexuality is nothing to be ashamed of and is merely a variation of sexual functions.”

All this was printed as though it were true and had the backing of our society.

As nations, and as individuals, we in this nation have gotten to the place where we will accept almost anything as lawful, decent, acceptable and even call it normal? Is homosexual normal or right in any way?

It all depends on whether your authority is the reasoning of men or the inspired Word of the Creator as revealed in the Bible.

This is what God says of human philosophers who we like to regard as the fathers of Western thought:

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affection: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise, also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet” (Rom. 1:22, 26-27).

Our generation has come to regard as “acceptable” what God describes as vile affections and perverted lusts and appetites. This along with openly accepted immorality at every level.

People may not like to admit it, but people do, eventually reap the bitter fruits of their labors in sin and rebellion against the laws of the Creator God. Our generation is both sick, mentally and physically.

We all need to realize that, like it or not, we have been affected by this sick world around us. God has been made to seem impotent, far off, and His laws unreal and impractical. As a people we have tended to compromise or water down basic principles.

The vast majority of people haven’t had practical, powerful and authoritative teaching direct from the Bible, and it really shows. So, we just go along with and participate in lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, fornication, homosexuality, juvenile delinquency, drug abuse, and many other crimes against God and our fellow man.

We have, as a people, so scarred and seared our collective conscience, that we would, (as said at the beginning of this article) as a people literally kill Jesus Christ should He appear in human flesh and indict us.

One might say; that can’t be true. But over 1900 years ago a generation very similar to ours literally did this very thing.

They began to see that their establishment religious and political, their society, their grown-up playhouse was a sick and wretched thing, and that it had infected them personally and individually. What was the end result of that generation? They directly killed the promised Messiah!

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36).

Here was an indictment that could have been bitterly resented, but as least several thousand people of that generation were intellectually and spiritually honest. They were willing to face the fact that they, personally, had become callous and sinful and guilty before God.

They needed help and forgiveness, just as today’s generation does. But how can man be reconciled to God and receive divine help to truly understand the will of God, the purpose of life, and then have the spiritual strength to accomplish that purpose?

After hearing what the apostle Peter had said, they “were pricked in their heart and then asked what shall we do:”

Then Peter said unto them, “repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call” (Acts 2:37-39).

Notice that verse 39 puts us into the picture. For the promise of receiving God’s Spirit is extended to all people of all generations, “even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

It is a fact; no human can naturally or normally yield to obey God in his or her own strength. We must have God’s Holy Spirit in order to understand, grow and overcome spiritually. God’s Spirit is a part of His very character placed within us to enable us to live as we should.

Paul tells us “the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us” (Rom.5:5)

Today, self-professing Christians have false ideas how we should express this love every Christian must have. They seem to think it is a sentimental emotion about the person of Christ, or a sanctimonious attitude with lots of religious sounding talk.

Why is it they can’t understand what God’s Word tells us what this “divine” love really is? “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and his commandments are not grievous” (I John 5:3).

Probably one of the best definition of a Christian is found in I John 2:6 “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (KJV).

The Weymouth translation makes the intended meaning clearer: “He who says that he abides in him is bound to live as he lives.”

How many of today’s professing Christians, and for that matter some members of God’s Church, feel bound to live exactly as Jesus Christ did to literally keep the Ten Commandments as He did; to refrain from killing, stealing, lying; to keep holy the same day that Jesus did, and through the Holy Spirit, to literally let Him live His live all-over in them as human instruments? (Send for our FREE DVD, “Is Christ Living in You?”)

The complete, unconditional surrender of one’s self to God and to Christ as Saviour and Master is the key to real conversion.

Have we truly examined ourselves? Have we come to the place where we believe in the Creator God and in the Bible as His Word? Are we willing to totally surrender our will to obey His Word?

Have we truly given our self to Christ to yield completely, willingly, so that He may live His life in us through the Holy Spirit?

Are we willing to let God fashion and mold us after His own divine character that He may give us eternal life in the resurrection and a place to rule over cities and nations under Jesus Christ?

Are we willing to quit arguing and reasoning with God, and say, “Yes Lord, thy will be done?

In Acts 2:40 Peter must have been looking at our generation when he said: “save yourselves from this perverted generation.” If there was ever a generation that was perverted, decadent and sick we are it.

We are making rapid progress in a full circle return to the degradation and filth of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah and pagan Rome.

As former President Franklin Roosevelt once said: “This generation has a rendezvous with destiny!”

A German-dominated United States of Europe looms ever closer on the horizon. Britain slithers and slides from a second to a third or fourth rate power.

Although President Donald Trump wants to make America great again and build up our military might, it will be broken. Why? Because of our individual and national sins:

“And I will set my face against you and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you: and ye shall flee when none pursues you” (Lev. 26:17). In verse 19, “and I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass.”

This generation is destined to experience divine intervention and punishment from a Creator who is very much alive and who will not be mocked.

Our rendezvous with destiny will be quite a shock to those who leave the true God out of the picture.

We live in a generation that ridicules the idea of a real God and the necessity to obey His laws and His ways.

Our Savior Jesus Christ commands us the Church of the Living God: “To go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned (Mark 16:15-16).

God’s Church does not care what the churches of this world says about us. We are the Church of the Living God we are preaching Christ’s message as a witness to this dying world.

Just like this untoward generation has a rendezvous with destiny, so does the Church of God!

We have been called out of this evil generation by God Himself to receive His Holy Spirit, to understand prophecies that are rapidly being fulfilled and to qualify for a position in His divine government soon to be set up on this war-torn sick-sin earth, the glorious Kingdom of God!

God has a plan for saving mankind. That plan is outlined in seven annual holy days described in Leviticus the twenty-third chapter. Those holy days, as observed by the physical Israelites, had far reaching meaning beyond the sacrificing of animals. To understand the spiritual ramifications of these seven annual holy days, send for our FREE Course, “God’s Master Plan of Salvation”. Our rendezvous with destiny is explained in the annual holy day, “Pentecost”. Enroll today!
